How it all started.
It all started around 8-9 years ago, when I found a few foreign banknotes, from Malaysia and Vietnam. I found those notes in the so called 'safe deposit' where all the documents are such as the passports, birth certs, etc.
And that discovery ignited the flame in me,I still remember,I was so amused by the colour and texture of the banknotes, and from then, I have progressed from little over 10 notes to around 350+ banknotes and still counting.
Also, my grandfather was a 'collector' and that was where I got a lot of old and rare notes.Such as the Straits Settlements notes and a few old Singapore banknotes.
My collection grew really slowly initially as my only source was whenever my father travelled overseas where he would exchange for the foreign currencies.
I soon then started to go to the money changers,to get foreign banknotes.Just until recently when I found a shop that sells banknotes,my collection has tripled from what it was before.
Everyday I admire all my banknotes, because they are very pleasing to the eye,and also I like some of the colour matching, but of course there are those that I do not really prefer such as the Chinese 1,5,10 RMB notes because the colours just do not match.
And theres also the 'ridiculous' notes, such as the Zimbabwean 100.000.000.000.000 Dollar note. And the Yugoslavian 500.000.000.000 Dinara note.
Yup, this is all for now, till my next post, with my collection,
